‘Tis the season for spreading good cheer, and at the top of your priority list should be your customers! The holidays are different when you’re an entrepreneur or startup founder. Inc.com recently asked me along with nine of my peers what our best advice was for delivering cheer in a customized manner. Personally, I like to go a little old school this time of year and pay a personal visit to my customers.
Of course, there are many businesses where this won’t work, but if you’re in an industry like mine where there are a handful of high-profile clients, it’s worth the effort. At Due.com, we can’t personalize like this for our free customers, but human interaction is important for the higher-paying customers. Meeting in person with someone from your company really stands out and encourages customer loyalty.
Another recommendation includes personalized gifts based on customer taste—literally if you’re in the restaurant business! Meaningful, hand-written thank you notes can go a long way. Timing is also key this time of year. Everyone is competing for attention, so send your swag bag a little early for an easy way to stand out.
